Mission Community Market Returns Today

The Mission Community Market makes its return today from 4-8pm for the season ahead with street food, a farmers market, dance, music, and art! The Mission Community Market (MCM) is a weekly, outdoor marketplace that celebrates the Mission District’s diversity with fresh foods, local businesses, and youth activities in order to improve family health, youth access to arts, and the safe, fun use of Mission streets.

The market is open every Thursday from 4-8pm on Bartlett Street at 22nd.

For its second annual opening day, MCM will unveil the reproduction of San Francisco’s first mural (over 200 years old!) with muralists Jet Martinez, Ezra Eismont, and Bunnie Riess as well as Ben Wood, the visual artist who documented the mural. Supervisor David Campos will address the community and officially open MCM for 2011, followed by an encore of the Diana Gameros trio, street dancing performances and much more!
