The Mission Community Council (MiCoCo) is an organization of Mission District community organizations, faith groups, neighborhood associations, and public departments that have united to promote the well-being of San Francisco’s Mission District. The Council strengthens the neighborhood by expanding the community’s skill bank and by increasing opportunities for the families, and residents, of this diverse, working class, immigrant, and Latino community.
MiCoCo meets monthly to provide information, and to act as a forum for information regarding neighborhood issues. MiCoCo members take action on critical community issues in MiCoCo Affinity Groups, where they develop collaborative solutions to the issues raised.
The MiCoCo Coordinating Committee is the Council’s guiding body. The Coordinating Committee is made up of 2 Council Co-chairs, and the Chair of each Affinity Group. Decisions made by the Coordinating Committee are presented to the larger Council for ratification. MiCoCo staff support and facilitate to the Affinity Groups and the larger Council.
